Default Cags

I'm looking for some advice about installing the cags device on my C5 please. Is it worth the trouble? Are there any drawbacks to installing it? Can it be successfully removed at a later date to bring the car back to original? Thanks!

Yes, entirely worth it! No drawbacks to installation and very easy to return to stock. You will need a lift or at least jack stands tall enough to let you get underneath the car. One mod you will never regret.

Absolutely do it. No issues with the install - it is very easy and the instructions are clear. If you ever want to remove it, just unplug the CAGS eliminator and replug the factory connection.

I went to Radio Shack - paid $0.25 for a 20-ohm resistor - shoved it in the connector - zip-tied it out of the way - no problems - that CAGS will get you killed!

Now all we need is the return of Radio Shack

Killed? Seriously? I do hope that you're joking with me!

Am I mistaken, or haven't I read that some of the tuners can turn the CAGS off? Unless I'm mistaken, the eliminator kits just kill the solenoid, not the signal or the dash light. I'd rather not have the light on the dash -- always makes me think I have an CEL for a split second or two.

You are correct on both counts...
