Garmon unit stuck to the windshield with a suction cup. I have a 7" screen model, I like it a lot. Very easy to read, it has a much bigger screen than an iPhone.

IPhone in a clip-on air vent mount ($6) to the rightt side of the center air vent, plugged into the accessory 12V socket for continuous use on a 9 hr and an 11hr leg on 2 trips up and back from FL to N., Never lost a signal for one second even up and over mountains and valleys. Easily viewed and accessible, can answer or use the phone hands-free and go right back to the NAV app. Can't be any easier.
