Default Dash Pad help

The sides of my dash don’t seem to be lining up with the A-pillar bases. I’ve done a search but didn’t see anything like what I’m experiencing. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Please see pics for reference. Thanks in advance.

Did you recently have the dash pad off and it’s not lining up upon re-install?

If you haven’t removed it lately, I’d say what is happening is the areas in the pics are bubbling up as a result of heat from the sun. Not sure if a fix other than replacing the dash pad.

Of course other members may have other ideas as to what has happened.

Yeah I would be inclined to say it's due to heat and age. Near 20 year old (20 years is ooolllldddd for a car) GM dash, that's already not the best quality, compounded with heat. The edges being pulled next to the A pillars would expand and contract pushing the upholstery. This is why any time I park my C5 outside, regardless of time of year and for how long the car is stopped, a sun shade goes into the windshield.

1] Live with it

2] Remove the dash and attempt to clamp or force the upholstery further down

3] Locate a good replacement dash from a Corvette recycler or a parted out car.

The dash was removed a few years back to install some gauge rings. I had to leave the car in storage until recently so I’m not sure if I simply didn’t notice it before or if it’s a recent development. Guess best thing to do is remove the dash again and see if it’s misaligned? Saw several DIY dash removal threads but if anyone recommends one over the other send it my way. Thanks again.
