anyone have this part installed and have it throw a computer code. Check engine light comes on and code shows skip shift module code or something like that I wrote it down but am out now. I’ll get the exact code when I get home and update.
Just wondering if anyone had same issue.

I had a skip shift eliminator installed on both my ‘99 and ‘00 C5s and never threw a code, but if the part had a failure as mentioned above I could see a code being set.
Skip shift module (CAGS Eliminate) is just a resistor that fools some other circuitry into thinking the skip shift solenoid is still in place and operating. Have read a number of threads where the resistor failed and the circuitry is no longer fooled and hence sets a related code. That is where I would start.
I had my CAGS feature tuned out when I had the tune done to my car so i won't face the same issue.
so if the part failed and threw a code would the car force the 1 to 4 shift. Cause that didn’t happen just shifted normally from 1 to 2. Although the light to shift did show on dash.

If you have the skip shift intsall and it fails the car would not be able to force the 1 to 4 shift because the skip shift solenoid would have been unplugged.

so do you think replacing the skip shift with a new one would stop the code.

That would be a good place to start. Skip shift eliminators are about $15 or you can get 2.2k ohm 0.5 watt resistor from the electronics store if you like doing things youself. I think they sell them in packs of ten for a couple dollars.
