Default Corvettes & Crabs

For anyone living in the Mid-Atlantic region that’s interested in a group cruise, our next get together is planned for Sunday September 16th at 2:00. It was originally scheduled for the 9th but the weather forecast isn't favorable. We’re meeting at the Wolf’s Furniture parking lot at the Hagerstown Outlets. We’ll be going into Pennsylvania where we’ll travel through Michaux State Forest and a historic covered bridge built in 1890 on our way over to Emmitsburg, MD for dinner at Rubes Crab Shack. If you’re planning to attend please let me know so I can adjust the reservation count at Rubes.

MAN,,,,,,,,,, I LOVE CRABS!!! (originally from Baltimore) YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry that I will not be able to make the run. We live in CT and would do the speed run in a heart beat but,, lately TIME and WORK prevent us from having fun. Us North East Vetters do a CRAB RUN to Ocean City Delaware in the Summer. That's always a blast and Man they have some excellent Crabs!! On the way to the Crab Feast we stop at a GO CART Place and do battle on the CART TRACK! LOL!

As a matter of curiosity, how many of you usually do these cruises?

Maryland definitely does crabs right. I like mine with a lot of Old Bay.

Hey jackthelad, we’ll usually do 4-5 cruises a year and it varies on turnout. We’ve had as little as 8 and 15 was the most. On each cruise I provide the drivers with a route trip itinerary and we’ll normally gather for some group photos. Most guys bring their wives along too. It’s truly a great group of people who love hanging out and talking cars. I see your from WV, we do a lot of our trips over there because of the scenic twisty roads. Join us next month to experience it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Well Bill it looks like you’re going to have to make this trip then.....at Rubes Crab Shack it’s $42.99 for all you can eat hard shell crabs. Want crab legs too? No problem, for $7 more you can. You may have to clear that schedule for one weekend in September

Enjoy yourselves. My other half does not like riding in the C5 - too low, too noisy, and according to her, I drive it too fast, and confession time - I don't like crabs, so I'll pass on the cruise. I was just curious in that I have only ever seem a very few C5's around Hagerstown, despite having lived just over the river in WV for 10 years now. More likely to see a C6 than a C5 on the road these days. But if you do see a silver C5 getting building materials loaded in at Lowes or HD, that would be me.....

p.s. there's a very fun section of WV 50, from around Aurora going west. Quite the drive. Lots of sharp corners and elevation changes. Up one side of the mountain and down the other. Only trouble is, you can get stuck behind a local farm vehicle, which rather spoils the fun....

We don’t have any C5’s in our group surprisingly. There’s some C5’s running around Hagerstown but I do see a lot of C7’s. Thanks for the advice on Aurora, I’ll have to look into it. If you’re interested in attending a future cruise let me know and I’ll keep you updated. Our Fall run is October 20th, BBQ that time.

Hey Bob, I sent you a DM with info on our Fall cruise. Yeah this rain has hurt a lot of car shows this summer unfortunately. Especially at the Valley Mall

Our cruise has been moved to the following Sunday 16th due to rain in the forecasts. All other details remain the same
