So I have an interesting situation. A good friend of mine wants to buy my Corvette. I have told him that I haven't decided it I want to sell yet since I've only had it two months...but it would be nice to free up the space in the garage for some projects I need complete. I can always buy another one come spring.
In any case, he is knowledgeable about cars, as am I. We have bought and sold cars to and from each other before with no issues. I know that I (probably) overpaid for the car because I wanted one that was in exceptionally good shape, but I want to have an idea of a fair asking price if I do decide to sell it to him. Neither of us really has dipped his toe into the Corvette waters before, so we aren't really sure regarding value, so I'd like to open it up to you all and see what you think.
The car is as follows:
2004 Corvette Convertible.
53,000 miles
triple black
Bone stock, never modded
6-speed
The good:
No leaks at all.
Tires in good shape.
Paint in very good condition
The bad:
power antenna doesn't work, but otherwise, everything works.
Front license plate cover is missing
The base car is worth about $12,500 and an extra $4,500 for low mileage so $17k. That's clean dealer full retail, trade in is closer to $14k. Then you need to consider tire age and Carfax history
.Add another $1000, for being a vert.
