Hi
Looking at rims. Will Z06 rims fit my 2002. I see tire size is the same but I noticed rim size is different. If yes do I have to do anything
Thanks
If you are talking about C5 Z06 rims then yes they will fit, tire size for Z06's are 295/35/18 & 265/40/17 a stock C5 Coupe & Convertible are 275/40/18 & 245/45/17
Then what 6speedsteve said. The tires should not be the same unless someone mounted base size tires on Z wheels (not ideal).
C5Z wheels and tires are interchangeable with the base models.
Yes, They will fit and are commonly swapped onto base C5s
It is my favorite look of all the C5s. Even if the wheel might be a little bit dated by todays standards by some.
Classy!
As much as I like some of the wider, more aggressive fitments with bulging fenders on these cars, sometimes simplicity works well, too. This is a perfect example. The dark argent works wonders with the dark paint.
You're making me want a set as a 3rd set of wheels. I don't need another set, but man do those look good.
This is a C6Z06 wheel in C5Z06 sizes with standard C5 Coupe tire sizes. I have been running these wheels and tires this way for well over 10 years without a problem.
If you don't already have the wheels you can do 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 like I have on my car. There's more tire choices and sizes like 265 front and 295 rear.
is there alot of tire selection for the c5 Z06 Rim
I checked tirerack and they only had one that fits
This won't be the most popular answer as some people seem to hold on to their man card dearly. If you go down just one single size both front and rear it opens up tire options by about 30+ tire models out there.
Unless the tire brand/model runs unusually skinny for it's size you'd be hard pressed to tell a difference by the eye. If you are serious about making the switch to the wider wheels take a look for 285/35/18s and 255/40/17s. Also in those sizes there are some good quality tires that don't carry the huge price tag that the 295-18s and 265-17s do.
Although it might partly be man card, going down one size (all other things assumed equal) will reduce traction. Sure it's only 3-4%, but if traction is already a concern (1st and 2nd for me) I would prefer to go up than down.
Also, for a base model you'd be going up sizes anyway by switching to Z wheels and tires, but for those Z owners like myself, going down a size is just "wrong" IMO.

While I totally get where you are coming from, my only caveat to that is that not all tires are the same size by size down to the MM on the sidewall. One companies 285 can in fact be wider than another companies 295.
Hell, even the same company can make two or more different models of tires that are physically different in size even with the same size printed on the sidewall. IMO this is why it's very important to look at tire manufacturers specs on their own websites instead of just going by a number.
Just throwing it out there. It's no secret that tires in sizes for the factory C5 Z wheels are appearing to be drying up. I like to have options, and I really don't feel like buying new wheels just to get tires which some guys do and have done.

You also should check “Tread Width”. I found out the same size tire from 3 different manufacturers had 3 different tread widths. Since contact patch is based on the tread, traction may vary.
I love my Z06 wheels on my FRC. Been struggling with whether or not to sell them and my current nitto’s which have about 1k miles on them in preparation for the coming winter. My FRC is my daily and this tire combo with 18” z06 rims on all 4 corners won’t get me too far between November - April here in Virginia.
I don’t know why anybody would consider these rims dated. They look plenty modern to me still.
With a shortage of Z06 sizes. Why can’t the stock coupe sizes be used? There are plenty to choose from. They fit fine on that rim.
2 sizes is a bit of a stretch IMO, that'd be like me wearing 30" pants. You can sure...
But there are still a few good options in stock Z sizes, so why bother even if not needed or on a base model.
