Pulled into a parking lot yesterday at about 20mph and smashed a pothole with the RF. Jumped out of the car and didn’t see any wheel or tire damage so made my way home.
About to go for a cruise today and hear something dragging. Get out to see the bottom wind deflector touching the ground. Turns out the RF tire is flat. Upon further inspection, the bottom of the bumper is cracked in three separate spots. Filled the tire back up, we’ll see how long it takes to go flat again. Sprayed down the bead and tread of the tire for with soapy water for leaks but no bubbles. Trip to the shop is incoming this week. Hope it’s not too expensive.
Super annoyed since I don’t drive it often and when I do, this happens. What a way to ruin a weekend. Ughhhh 😒
A few years back the mayor of my town hit a huge pothole on my street and sued the city for damages and won. If damages are substantial you may want to consider suing the owner for not maintaining his lot.
Find out who owns the parking lot and call them, ask for the lots insurance company's phone number and for them to contact you. Take a photo of the pothole and the damages to your car to send along with a total bill for repairs. I hit a pothole last winter and the owner of the parking lot referred me to his insurance company, they paid for a new tire and alignment.
I would call my insurance company and let them sort it out. Hiring a lawyer to handle a pothole issue may not be in your best economic interest.
Can't have a lawyer in small claims court. He could go that route. Or he could file a claim with the parking lot owner's insurance. The liability lies with the owner of the lot. He had a dangerous situation that went uncorrected. Getting your own insurance involved may raise your rates.

I'd start out with the parking lot owner. He/She may want to pay the damages rather than have their premium go up. If no luck there, then the parking lot's insurance company.
Good luck with a quick and no cost to you resolution!
The parking lot invovled was the one at my work. I was there after hours to throw out some garage garbage into the dumpster. I normally park on the other side of the building and was so focused on turning around, I didnt notice the pot hole.

Then I would forget about trying to get money from your place of work. I guess you are stuck with the bill.

Yep. Goes into the shop Thursday to get it checked out. On the bright side, the tire has stayed inflated since filling it back up Sunday. It drives fine but Id be surprised if the alignment wasnt out.

Oops!
I agree - handling it yourself is the correct option now. Bummer it wasn't some other business lot though.
Hope it's a cheap fix for you!
Had it checked out today. Tire had a nail and was patched/plugged. No suspension damage. However alignment was out (had been 3 years since last done). Mechanic said I was very lucky to only get damage to the bottom of the nose.
