Your picture shows quite clearly how much the Metra bezel does not match the C5 interior both in surface texture or color. Like I said earlier, it's a great product that does in fact work very well.
I still think the Vettenuts bezel blows it away in both looks, surface texture and color. Most importantly to many it retains the factory appearance with the ashtray door and cup holder door. Oh and it's not in any way greasy looking.

Why not show a picture of the same angle if you're going compare the 2?
we bought the Metra bezel for the C5 Z (wife's car) (she received my old Pioneer DD) because we were going to have it wrapped, that said I would not buy the Metra again, many things I don't like !!! Mine shows glossy because I had to modify my DD Mods bezel and the paint I used was all I could find, it will dull down with time, but not something that will keep me up at night !!! the main point here is if your happy with what you have that is all that matters !!!!

Thanks, all good to know.
Especially good here about someone with personal experience with both.

I never said it matched. I whole heartedly agree it doesn’t match, but, to me, because nothing matches (unless you want a greasy wet looking interior) then this is the best overall compromise without having to pay insane prices for custom ones and/or without doing a lot of extra work.
How much is the Vettenuts bezel? The amount of money I’ve read on here that people spend on the Double D guy’s bezels (which don’t look good to me) just blows my mind.
I personally prefer the overall design of the Metra over your style with the super thin bar between the HVAC and head unit and retaining the factory lower door and whatnot. Your whole dash actually does look greasy to me, so go figure. Tomatoe tomato ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is getting silly. Neither dash is greasy looking. I paid about $850 for DDMods to convert my bezel and supply me with the Kenwood 9903, rear camera and upgraded plugNplay harness. If I were doing it now I'd probably get the Vettenuts bezel when on sale. If I got the Metra I would paint it with texture paint like I mentioned before.
I don't know why people keep bringing up the DDmods bezel and price. You can't buy them anymore and haven't been able to for a little while now.
Vettenuts bezel is 319 when it's on sale.
There is nothing on my dash. Your dash is just as shiny as my dash. Your bezel is flat.
Anyways, I'm beating a dead horse here. Apologize for that.
Also, to be perfectly clear and I've said it before, if the Vettenuts didn't exist I would absolutely buy the Metra. Probably paint it though.
Well in my defense I don’t frequent this forum often. I have a lot of project cars and spend most of my interweb forum browsing on Civic/CRX, Maxima, or Dodge D150 forums. I haven’t been on here in months. Last year when I was doing all my research on this stuff everybody here seemed to be riding the Double D guy’s jock which always seemed weird to me. None of the stuff of his I saw looked all that great or like anything that I couldn’t do myself. Plus the cost was outrageous and I wanted to piece together my own setup with a Joying Android unit.
After giving up on vinyl wrap on my DDMODS bezel, I stripped it clean and painted it with black 'texture' paint. I don't remember if it was SEM, VHT or Rustoleum, but the finish came out great and it's not sandpapery where you can't wipe it down. I gave up on Armorall years ago and used it up on my tire sidewalls. Yours looks real good.
I placed my mic in the center near the mirror bracket since I 'talk to Siri' in that direction. I have the Kenwood 9903 with backup also. What is that large object just forward of the mirror?
Sorry I missed your post originally. That’s my dash cam in front of the mirror.
I know there are all kinds of opinions out there. Just asking who has tried what and what has worked for them on 2 Din radios. I want Bluetooth capable, backup camera, GPS, USB plug, satellite radio. I think the VetteNuts is probably the way to go as far as the bezel goes although expensive. Prefer kit with all plug and play wiring, but would settle for list of individual parts. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have also purchased the shifter and shifter box from TMods so I plan on installing it all while I have the bezel removed. Thanks
The discussion went off on a tangent about which bezel is best, but what about the best radio? New ones come out every year and I don't plan to do this until spring or summer, but what do you like?
I'd want Apple Car Play, a microphone and backup camera. CD player would be nice (I'm a dinosaur) but not essential. Also don't want to spend a fortune--I see some Pio, Jensen, JVC units around $300-ish. I do NOT want a subwoofer or a giant external amp.
Has anyone tried the SINGLE DIN with flip-up screen like the Jensen VX4014?

I think the flip up screen gets in the way of the center dash vents.
