under hood engine light
How do you remove the cover to the engine bay light? I've been trying to get it off but it doesn't want to budge and I don't want to break it. Does it only go on when you open the hood at night or in the daytime too? I want to change the bulb to led. It never worked since I bought the car a couple of years ago.

There are a couple of tabs on the lens (cover), that engage a couple of slots in the lamp housing. You squeeze the sides of the lens, and this disengages the tabs, then gently pull the lens from the housing.

The light comes on when the hood is opened, day or night. If it's never worked, make sure it's plugged in. It should be plugged in on the passenger side, lower front, if I remember correctly.

This. Be careful when squeezing the lens cover - after all this time it could be brittle.
