Well, I haven’t talked to anyone at the insurance company yet, but I just checked the claim status on their website and it says it’s “repairable”. No mention of the cost though.

I hate deer..they are all over near me in jersey... day and night they run right out in front of you..
had a few close calls but I constantly look..good luck
Saw a car hit a deer dead-on this morning on the way to work. Saturdays I’m on deck before dawn getting to work. Made the turn to enter the interstate following four cars. You’d think the deer saw 2 already pass and then maybe give caution... nope! Ran out and got smacked square at 20mph. Saw a blinker light lens fly off the Acura and it pulled to the side. The deer kept moving on momentum into the grass, stumbled severely (thought it might be fatal) and then staggered and ran off. Saw all this in a blink. Passed the fucked Acura as it pulled to the shoulder to figure out its insurance dilemma and I rolled on to work.
Heading home from Tennessee, my wife hit a deer doing about 80. Minimal damage to our vehicle, we were able to continue our ride home to Pennsylvania. The poor deer was toast.
No sympathy for the deer LOL. I hope there is a special place in hell for deer that run out in front of cars...and a REALLY special place for the one that hit me!

I took one out on a snowmobile at 50 mph, all I could do is bury my helmet into the handle bars and grab the brake!
I was very lucky...it just skimmed my left shoulder but I stayed on the sled
Bman, I Live between two state parks along a large creek. I have many deer crush through my property, and, they are a pleasure to watch. As many as there are near me, we never had any. I felt bad for the dear and if I had a gun with me I would've made sure he didn't suffer. I called the State police and they assured me they would get right out and if it were still alive dispatch it quickly.

I respect that. And appreciate you taking the time to address me with your comments.
I just bristle at the "I hate deer" title. Its not like they do it intentionally. That's all.
I live out in the country and the road to get here is 50 mph and right through prime deer country.
I cringe almost every day as I see another dead deer alongside the road. Especially during hunting season which changes their pattern.
I feel sorry for both the deer and the driver of the car that just got ruined.
Have a good day.
Gorgeous one down here in GA.
I grew up in Jersey and lived for 20yrs in upstate NY.
Used to hunt also.
Wish we saw as many deer in upstate NY as I do see here on a daily basis.
Oh man, that sucks!! I'm sorry... I almost had the exact same scenario play out on Friday night as I was driving the C5Z I just bought home from purchasing it. Came around a sweeping right hand corner on a mountain road at the base of Mt. Rainier, having a blast in my new toy, and a ginormous buck hopped out into the road then, luckily, turned on a dime when he saw me and retreated back into the brush. The thing looked like it was from Galapagos island it was so damn big!
Gotta have your head on a swivel when driving, especially anywhere near woodlands! Good luck with the repairs.
I agree.
I remember the little bumper dog whistles that supposedly deer can hear but we dont, on a lot of front bumpers smashed up from running into deer.
People thought they were covered so did not have to pay attention.
Ouch!

If you get it fixed make sure you get a good headlight assembly with no frozen or broken headlight adjusters and no stripped, plastic headlight motor gear.
I always sort of worry that if I hit a deer or larger, it might get scooped up by the low front end and come right through the windshield. Anybody ever hear of that happening?
