Now that my car is asleep for the winter, I'd like to improve my lighting on my interior lights. Would like better lighting on heat/ac, radio and other inst. First, how big a job would this be for an average guy and second what kind of lighting would work best and where to get it.
Thanks all in advance
Tstar used to replace the lighting in the radio/climate control units, he has a huge thread, just do a search on LED interior lighting....lots of info and help if you want to diy. I did my own window controls and HUD lighting with the information in that thread....fairly easy, although taking the gauge pod out is a bit scary the first time.
I don't know if he still does that stuff as I haven't seen a post by him in quite a while, but then I haven't been here all that much lately.

It's not really difficult at all, just time consuming for the first time. Second time was much quicker. Why a second time you ask? Because I put in a set of gauge bezels in the same time I did the LEDs and I messed up the speedo one so I had to take everything back apart again. If you don't like to solder, there are people on the net that will do your radio and AC control modules for you cheap.
For the radio, HVAC and anything else you don’t want to touch contact Dave Inkeles: http://c5led.com/
I’ve used him a few times and he’s great and a forum member.
Door switches and DIC buttons are easily replaced, You need 2 sizes of ‘NEO-WEDGE’ led bulbs. Don’t buy the cheapest you can find on ebay, they are not made well. Tho’ the actual led’s have been no problem, it’s the housings. They are not made to proper tolerances and since they are an ‘insert and turn’ type of unit, its easy to break one or crack the circuit board you’re trying to insert it into. JWM here sells them and I also recommend Superbrightled’s or Oznium.
