Yep I agree sometimes the car will pick you. I was in the process of searching for a C6 or a C5. Test drove a C6 thinking for sure it would be the one. I went to another Corvette dealer and saw a yellow Z. Yellow anything was the last color on my radar. After looking at several different Corvettes there I kept flocking back to the yellow C5Z. Test drove it and it "spoke" to me. After almost 5 years of ownership the yellow Z still brings a smile to my face every time I turn the key and drive it.
Your 99 looks to be well cared for. Welcome to the family and here's to many more years of smiles
OP - you are the epitome of the statement "when you find the one, you will know it.". I hope it brings you many miles of smiles as mine has done for me. Mine had 167k miles when I "found" it and now has 284k. Unfortunately I had to tuck it away for the winter.
93k is not a lot of miles on these c5's especially if the car was mechanically maintained. There are many c5's with two and three times that mileage, some with much more. Put on some new rims and with a little tlc she will look like new. That's a great price on an '04 with a clean title and under 100k and with a manual trans. Congrats and welcome.

The car I bought is quite the opposite of all of these things. I found this 99 on Craigslist and spoke to the original owner who basically told me he bought it New and Daily drove it and it was no garage queen. I drove the four hours from Chicago to Indy and met the owner who was in his 70s, the car was everything he said it was, rock chips on the hood, scrapes under the front bumper, torn driver seat, curb damage on all 4 wagon wheels and 93,000 miles. It was everything I was NOT looking for but it drove well, had no warning lights on and seemed to call my name. We agreed on 9 grand and the car was mine! What an awesome feeling driving the 4 hours back home and it has been an Awesome labor of love since I bought her in May 2018.
it is True that the car chooses You!
when I bought my C5 I had three requirements, no open roof, I wanted the hardtop. No automatics, had to be a 6-speed. And I hate red cars so no red cars.
I bought a red convertible with an automatic.
it needed a ton of TLC early on but I enjoyed it immensely anyway. By the time I was done with it I would have to say that was one of my best car ownership experiences ever.
Funny how that works. I went looking for a used 2008 c6 coupe and was thunderstruck by a 2003 c5 z06 for $7,000 less with the same mileage. It, too, is Torch Red. We've put 80,000 freeway miles on it in 6 years.
