Congrats on your new Car...Yeah they find us,.couple yrs back I sold my last '99..I had it for almost 3 yrs..she was my first C5, a Black hatchback a/t, when I sold it the car it had 235K on the O/D...I simply had invested too much (replaced cam, new trans, many other fixes etc) and the vette still needed more work. I was buried in it. So I decided to cut my losses and move on to something better.. I had no sooner let it go when a Craigslist ad popped up with another '99...

This car was a fully optioned convertible with only 53K miles on the clock..I wasn't really sold on the Pewter color, but I warmed up once I saw the car in person, it just glistened in the sunlight. Anyway it looked a lot better than in the tiny CL pic, well the price was also attractive and the dealer offered financing for those with less than stellar credit, so with my 3K down-payment in hand I went to look, they laid me away at $306. a mo.. the rest is history. The car picked me.

I think this '99 I have now will be with me quite a long time., she's almost half paid for and I've just turned 60K on the odometer..So far no problems with this car, although a headlight motor was out (and replaced) when I bought the car. Then about a yr ago I replaced a seeping radiator. I think the rear gears are different in the 'vert, it feels quite a bit faster off the line than my base model coupe did

Oh yeah I don't think the wagons are awful..my ex-Black coupe had the Chrome wagons on it.. they looked fine to me.

check my avatar pic to see the car. th site won't upload a better photo

My one main requirement (other than low miles) for the new Vette was a convertible top, for me it's easier to deal with than the removeable roof panel. Although I do like the solid roof aspect as well. You have a great looking vette Red is always HOT

So let us know what's all been upgraded or updated since ownership. I'm sure you've done a few things to it. Mine also picked me, sight unseen and 1350 miles away. I've had it since 2007 and it's not really stock anymore either.

Great C5 story. Glad to see you're still enjoying your vert.

I was looking for a C5 vert when I found mine. The color did not matter as much as I wanted a 6 speed vert. When I first saw the chrome wheels and red paint it was a done deal for me.
