Can someone tell me if the quieting mats for back of trunk area and behind seats are as good as some say. I believe they sell for around $250 and easy to install.
Thanks, Jim
A product called "Lizard Skin" is available. They have both a Sound deadening product and a heat barrier . They both work great. Both products spray on and can be used individually or together. They add only .040 thickness under your carpet so there is no distortion or fit change. It is water based so it can be shipped without the hazardous charges. You can check it out at Lizardskin.com We have it available her at C&S Corvettes at 10% off list.

Subscribing to see what people have to say. I've done thermal barrier and some mat in the front, but nothing yet in the rear -- if the mats work well, that would sure be a LOT less work...

Jim if your referring to the Blockit "Quick & Quiet" mats and your looking for forum opinions, you might want to scroll down a bit in the 1st post of the link I have listed. There are about 50 positive captured posts from Corvette forum members. Id post them here but its pretty long. Here's the link. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...e-s-and-h.html
....and the list has grown since then.
There are many options for sound deadening, this is just another unique choice Take care

Thank you for your purchase and your post.
As mentioned the Blockit "Quick & Quiet" mats do work. We actually improved on them since. We added even more barrier and sound proofing material to both the C6 and C5 products will get even better results. But as mentioned, it your looking for Cadillac quiet, this is not for you. The Blockit helps take the edge off annoying exhaust drone & helps with tire/road noise. All done in 60 seconds. Plus your not permanently gluing 100lbs of sound deadener to your car. The Blockit is removable (for race day if weight is an issue ). All 3 pieces weigh approx 22lbs.
I put in the 3/4" thick excersize mats/tiles suggested in another post and they also work to quiet down the noise coming from the rear, at a cost of ~$25-26. You have to cut and trim them to fit, but that's no big deal and maybe takes 15 min.
I'm sure a mat will help .... some. But you need quiet tires to start with. And if you want significant improvement, you'll need to do a lot more. Insulate behind the seats, over the wheel wells, the rear panel, inside the fender liners, possibly doors too. You could also build or buy a partition which really helped a lot on my GS. Good luck.
"it your looking for Cadillac quiet, this is not for you."
I would argue that if anyone is looking for Cadillac quiet, pretty much any Corvette is not for them...
Well, maybe a '78 or so, with the snorting 190 HP.
