Default 19" C5 Z06 Wheels

Can someone PLEASE explain why no one makes the C5 Z06 wheels in the 19" size for rear with matching configuration for 18" in front????!!! WHY?? They make them still in the 17/18" size, so how difficult is it to make them in 19" too??

Only comment I can offer, is 17 and 18 were the factory offerings. Someone would have to invest in tooling to make a new size happen.

Been aggravated with that as well. I’ve talked to countless wheel vendors and their answer is always “there isn’t a demand for older C5’s now”. From the late 1990s to around 2010, you could probably find some decently priced aftermarket wheels that fit the Z06 offsets (+54 frt and +58 rr). But as those inventories ran out, it was too costly for the vendors to order new wheels based on demand. I’ve heard they sometimes have to order in quantities of like 2000 wheels to make it cost effective for the manufacturer to produce them. So that’s why you can’t find them anymore from places like Factory Reproductions or other places.

However, IF price is not a problem, you can get custom wheels for the Z06 from places like CCW, HRE or other high end wheel manufacturers. But they usually start around $800 or much higher per wheel. So you’d be looking at $3000 for higher for a set. There are companies like Forgestar, MRR Design, and Cray that have reasonably priced forged wheels in offsets that are close to the one on your Z. Trust me, I feel your pain because I’m going through the same thing with mine. It’s really frustrating but we’re dealing with 15+ year old Vettes and some manufacturers just don’t see the market in producing decently priced wheels for them. They’re going after the current C7 crowd so we end up suffering with a lack of quality options for ours.

I know it sucks but that’s what we have to deal with. Sorry for the bad news.

Btw, IF you find some nice looking wheels that fit, let me know!

Really appreciate it. It makes no sense though, because those are pretty good looking wheels and I'd bet the Gen 3 and 4 camaro/pontiac guys and others would also get them. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

This is a good explanation and the recommendations are a plus. There are a number of aftermarket wheels that would meet your requirements, or would be close enough in offset to work well.
