i have a 99 c5 with Botha exhaust an k&n intake stick
my cousin has 2010 mustang gt with flow-master stick
my other cousin has a 2013 camaro ss stock auto
What I am saying is, is that the Camaro SS has more HP. BUT the Camaro is heavier. When my FRC was stock, I street raced a 2011 Camaro SS. It's my buddies car. It was a stock 2010 6 speed. We were pretty equal drivers too. In the first run, I did pull a car length or so on him then the second time, he pulled on me. This was whether it was off the line or from a roll at 20 or 30.
The Camaro has about 55 horses more than you...but outweighs you by a good 600 pounds so it would probably be a wash.
He might take you off the line because of the ease of launching an auto vs a stick and he will probably stay slightly ahead unless you can shift like Ronnie Sox (Mopar drag racing reference).
Zero to sixty times shows:
2010 Mustang GT at 4.9 and 13.5
2013 Camaro SS at 4.4 and 12.8
1999 Corvette at 4.7 and 13.1
If they're on, the SS wins in a straight line.
I’m thinking it’s a drivers race. They suck behind the wheel.
Not sure how someone “sucks” behind a automatic unless your talking road race? its a drivers race only if they were all manual trans or highly modified where you would have to correct with steering in a drag race.

The fifth gen auto Camaros had the L99 motor. (Only rated at 400hp.) That, with the added 650+ lbs, should make this a driver's race. (Even after the auto jumps ahead at the start )
I roasted many SS Camaros in my litely modded '04 Z, and even a couple fifth-gen ZL1's.

I believe the Camaro is closer to 5 seconds. Even the 6th gens are having trouble hitting mid 4's in the 0-60, and they're much faster/lighter cars.
Depends on the venue and the skill level of the driver. If it were the Nurburgring, Sabine Schmitz would beat either of vehicles no matter what she was driving.
That's not what this is. This is "whose car would end up in front if we both floored it at the same time"? He'd already have his answer if he'd just run them instead of hyping up nothing.
