The absurdity of the prices some of these vehicles are selling for. We live in a world of $75,000 1978 Trans Ams and $30,000 Mustang 5.0s? These aren't real prices.

They aren't? Someone apparently thought they were. Who gives flying hoot what someone is willing to pay for a car? 😂 why does it bother you so much someone sees value in something you don't? Op have a fantastic time. I know I did back in 08 at the Vegas BJ. Saw some great cars and met some fantastic people, both commoners and celebrities i would love to go back sometime

Bother me so much? Not really, no, it’s merely commentary. Seems like it bugs you though.
But that being said, with auction prices spiking up for previously cheap cars, it’s going to push all the cars in the market up. This happened with muscle cars already, air cooled Porsches and 90’s Japanese halo cars are going up now and it seems like the late 70s and 80s cars are next. It’s going to be wild seeing $25,000 and up IROCs.
I've done Mecum, and would like to go to a BJ next. JMHO but it seems Mecum has more reasonable prices. It really doesn't matter since I'm not in the market to buy, I'm just a car junkie.

I call Mecum the "NO SALE" auction. Plenty of cars there under $10k
BJ is how I ended up with a Corvette. Amazing cars and a chance to see just about everything. The real take-away for me was the condition of the average cars rolling through. Misaligned body panels, bad paint, etc. Still, great cars and options. $30k Bentleys, 100k mile Ferrari’ and lots of really well-done and kooky restorations. Complete sausage party in the best way possible.

Bugs me those cars sell high? Um no, what bugs me is people who whine and complain about what people spend on cars.
We have done BJ in several locations IMO Scottsdale is the best........amazing events.
We have also have done several Mecum events at several locations.
Both events have some really good cars and a lot of variety but we found the BJ events more interesting.
We can't afford to buy, but they put on the best car shows around.......
I went Thursday. There are so many cool, interesting, weird, over-the-top, underwhelming, tasteless, etc, cars, it's overwhelming after a few hours. Oh, another 69 Camaro resto-mod....
But I would recommend it as a once in a lifetime (at least) experience.
New ZR1 Not everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it. It also had a stunning red interior. "Flight line": 7 winged Mopars. Perfect black paint, not a scratch or swirl. For now, lol.
Just a few more, if I may... A special place in my heart for a car I bought for $750 off a used car lot in 1976, at age 20. Factory 5 kit car, sold for $80k. LS7 engine. Whoever built this, knows what he's doing. More fun than a science fair. Last year they had the cut-in-half 60's corvette.

Or have an opinion that differs from yours?
Thinking what someone spend on a car is ridiculous isn’t whining, it’s stating an opinion, it’s a big difference.
Trying to call someone out because they have a different opinion and saying they’re whining even after they explain their point which is about the relative market in general and the impact of these super high auction sale figures? Grow up.

CT last year. Bugatti Veyron Ford GT Bought my friend a Vette hat in the Chevy area (he has an 82 that is sitting under a tarp). Should have bought myself one but I wasn’t thinking of buying one until after this event
