Default C5 Coupe Top Headliner

Hello, everyone, I'm a newbie. Just bought a black-on-black 2003 50th Anniversary, 6-speed manual, 46k miles. It's a sweetheart for sure, but the headliner is sagging. I've seen black upholstered "sun screen" headliners offered online for the clear tops. My question is, will those work well as a replacement for the regular fiberglass targa tops like mine? Thanks in advance. -Jeff N.

I've been meaning to deal with this same problem myself. I've read of people removing the liner and just spray gluing it back up there. I haven't looked into how to remove the liner without ruining it yet but from what I've read, it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

My headliner is falling to. I did a quick repair last fall but I know it wont last. Here is my plan for this spring when I get the car out of storage.
I was going to order this

1997-2004 C5 Corvette Tagra Top Roof Liner Headliner Sunshade Blackout - $64.99

Let us know how that works out. That looks like it may be a great fix. Also, I wonder how much (if any) headroom we might lose if it's thicker. (I'm thinking helmet room here.)

I went ahead and had it done by a pro (Lindy's auto upholstery, here in San Diego). Turned out FABULOUS! I'm good.

My 2001 had a few sagging "bubbles" when I purchased it. I carefully removed the outer material and inner liner and cleaned off the old adhesive from the liner and top. I used a 3M spray headliner adhesive to re-attach material to liner and then liner to top. I took my time and it looks as good as new. One year later and it still looks good.

I went with one of these for my wife's '02. Found it on Ebay.
Fits perfect and looks great. 5mm self-adhesive close cell foam with a heavy duty liner material bonded to it.

Someone sells headliner replacement on eBay for like $30-40...but it's not precut...lol. They basically sell you a sheet of foam or felt for $40 and you have to trim/fit it yourself. I need to do mine too. It's a simple job, just need to get some fabric/material from a hobby store, walmart, etc. Can probably do it yourself for about $20 in a couple hours.

The one I bought is pretty slick. The backing is a heavy foam rubber and the liner is a thick fabric. It’s cut to fit without needing additional trimming. The whole job took less than 1 hr. Was totally worth the price for me.

From eBay? The only one I've seen specifies not pre-trimmed. Is there another option available? Or where did you get yours?
