battery run down
does the 2002 C5 have battery run down protection ? if you leave the hatch popped or a door open, the light is on, and if you don close things up, battery will drain for 15 min and then automaticly shut down. Like the C6 and C7. did a search and in stickies, i see nothing.

am just returning to the C5 world after leaving in 2009 for the C6 and C7. Am happy to be back for sure.

Yes, the car does have a battery run down protection. I know my ‘99, ‘00 and ‘03 all had that feature. It should say it in the owner’s manual.

went thru 3 red top bat...then switched to deep cycle yellow top ...meant to be charged but more important put a battery shutoff for less than $5.00 ...and just turn the shutoff **** off when I'm done driving and no more dead batteries...battery will be 6yrs old in april and still at 12.7 to 12.73 whenever I check it...give it a charge now once a yr. with my ctek charger. Drive my car once a week or less. Hope this info helps someone...cheers...my ride is 99 modded 641 rwh

seems to work now,, not sure what happ the first night in my garage, left the hatch open dead in the morning. Been messing with stuff most every day with the door open and it shuts itself down after 10 or 15 minutes.
