There's a really good video of installing the Vararam that includes removing the fog light surrounds.

Surely some forum members have done dynos before and after. I didn't before, after my Halltech was 325.8 RWHP & 333.7 RWTQ
Yeah they do, but unsubstantiated. When K&N first made C5 CAI kits they showed dyno pulls. The gains were modest - IIRC, about 9-10 hp on very early cars (bigger injectors, no pup cats) and about 5-6 on later models. They no longer do that, they just claim a number.

No. I was able to swap them out from underneath the car without removing the bumper.

I'm curious to know if there's a better flowing intake system that uses the stock paper filter element (or its own element that filters as well as the OEM filter. I don't like K&N filters and would not use them (again)...

AirRaid dry, or just use a Z cover on a base box.

Just an observation from a shade tree back yard wannabe mechanic...me...i have noticed that since I put the better flowing Z06 titanium catbacks and a Blackwing air filter and an MCM heat extractor s/c hood.......it sure feels like a boost in power to me...compared to before I added these items....
I don't think it's just a figment of my imagination....just sayin...

Can't really say... but the Z cover was needed to get the LS6 to 405HP

The MCM hood takes away horsepower, therefore, you should send it to me. I want to go slower
