I have see the posts about rats in the blower fan but in all the years of owning vehicles I have never had ants invade my car, up until now that is.
They are making a trail from the defroster duct to the side of my passenger seat. Yesterday noticed a couple in the area of the tunnel by my right rear fender.
I cant help but wonder how they even got into the car. I hate to spray the car with raid but those things are pissing me off

There's only one way in and that's up the tires. I waged that battle two years ago with my work car parked outside. Spray a section of the driveway large enough to park on with Talstar, or equal, and that should solve your problem.
I have to use Terro every summer, little ants come in the house, kill one colony another pops up in another area of the house, over and over.
Never had ants at any other house, lucky they are little ants and not big.
Anyways I always notice the ants just die at the Terro, either they OD, or get stuck in it, careful to not let any run off the paper or pre cut application pieces, the liquid will turn into a firm substance, only way I could get it off tile was a razor, or pouring hot water on it using coffee pot with no coffee to make hot water.

I experienced ants on my old C7 past summer.. On trunk lid and rear quarter panels, every time I looked!!!!!
No food or drink was EVER in or NEAR my car!
Nothing changed for the 2 yrs I owned it.... except, I got new rims & tires from a vendor that summer...
After that the ants started...
I think they were IN the tires....Or they put something in the tire before mounting just to "F" with me, like maybe soda or a candy bar..
I absolutely think so..!!!
Point is:
Car is sold, but for you, think if ANYTHING changed at all that may be your source.. Anything........

Like you said, the liquid turns very hard and difficult to get off anything it runs onto... instead of just the liquid drops that JR-01 posted above, they also have these

Yeah, those would probably work better in a car. The liquid is just cheaper and enough for twenty years. It's interesting when I put a drop out, the ants circle it, sucking it up and then they are gone, not to be seen again. Until the next year.
