If I add one should I disable the stock door sub if I get a power sub?
No, do not disable, they will keep the bass sound up front where it belongs. In my 99 I have an aftermarket subwoofer (JL Audio 13TW5v2-2) in the back and still run the front bass speakers.
Just wanted to update this thread and let everyone know it is completely possible to get an underseat subwoofer installed under the passenger seat.
The cerwin-vega vpas10 is the perfect size, allows the seat to slide as designed, and offers up some much needed low end clarity with no ridiculous hood rat bass thumping **** that can be heard by others at a stop light. Install was easy, and fine tuning resulted in the low pass filter set at the lowest setting, gain at about 25%, and the stereo subwoofer output at -5%.
It's exactly what I needed, and if you have a lady in the car....well....who knows.
Wow thanks for the pic I will be ordering my under seat sub Asap !!! ...............BTW how does it sound with the door subs ???

thanks for that update! For those of use just looking to fill in the mid/lower end without going crazy this fits the bill! Getting my new double din and front/rear cameras installed in a week or so, I’ll order one of those and install at the same time!
I mounted this Sound Ordnance Sub from Crutchfield.com on the back wall on the rear compartment. Fits perfectly and does not take up much space at all. I'm like you, really didn't want to get blown out, just a nice full sound.
and mounted it on the back wall. It does really well in a small cabin like the C5.
My current setup is
Sony AX1000 (slightly fewer features than the 100 you've got planned)
Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers in factory locations
Removed all bose speakers and ran new wiring
Rockville 8" powered sub
Basic subwoofer installation kit from walmart (no need for anything fancy because this sub doesn't use enough power anyways)
I really like the setup. Compared to Bose, it's night and day. If you're going to leave the bose in and do a PAC-ROAM (or whatever it's called) adapter, consider buying a set of 3.5" speakers to replace the twiddlers. It will go a long way to help clear up the sound. My biggest issue was the amount of mid-bass coming from the bose subs overwhelmed anything else on the spectrum and sounded muddy. The only way to clear sound is replacing the bose.

Reason: fixed link
Thanks for the input gentlemen. I'll dig around on the links and see what you guys did. I absolutely hate breaching the firewall with huge power cables, etc. Did that **** 20 years ago and refuse to go back! Haha
why do you have to breach the sidewall? there's a nice opening in the passenger side, run a quality 1 gauge wire to a power distro block somewhere in the back, and then branch out all your power from there.
Rockford fosgate makes a slim, 8" subwoffer enclosure + amp -- slimest one I've seen, I have it in my '67, but even that, zero chance it fits under the c5 seats.
