Just for fun, I want to hear what's your proudest, most unsuspecting victory in your C5. List your power level/mods too please. For me it was an pulling on an F430 on a cat and mouse highway chase and walking him. Current power/tq 397RWHP/400RWTQ.
My friends 2018 Mustang GT. Both from a dig and a roll. It was a performance pack 1 but was geared a bit too long, up to higher speeds I'm sure it'd be equal/him starting to catch up.
Killed my MPG and hurt a Ferrari owner's feelings. Didn't know this was an ethics forum.
Just a simple plausible question... relevant to the thread. Do " you " think my question had anything to do with ethics? I lost my best friend at the hands of two street racers 28 years ago. He was not street racing just a young talented engineer who lost his life for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I agree with ET. I keep that to the track. I don't ever, and I mean ever, get into games with people on the road. Ain't worth my life, let alone the life of a passerby.
My unexpected win: my last autox (#5 for me), I had an instructor with me, and for the first time managed to do better in my car than an instructor by a significant margin.
Just happen to catch this thread, so I'll post up..
On one of my Corvette Challenge 11.50 Index Championships, I was many points down going into the last race of the season.
In order to win, multiple improbable events had to happen...
First, I needed to win at least 5 rounds,
Second, I needed to be the #1 Qualifier, (gets an extra point), and,
Third was I had to be on the opposite side of the ladder of the current points leader, and beat him.
All went down as listed!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!

As cars get faster, fatalities will probably also rise. Tragic loss in the article that was linked. Cars get faster, legislators close race tracks. Its a vicious circle
I don't have any kill stories with the Vette. Its oil leak is killing my driveway tho haha
Why crush perfectly good cars? Sell them and use the money to hire more police officers to nab more racers to sell their cars to hire more police officers to nab more racers to sell their cars...……nevermind
Don't street race, nothing good from it. Just smile and wave.
Since we all abide by the rules of this forum, there is no issue about Posting a thread like this anymore.
However, you would have to expect some push back from people who do not see the topic of this thread as a legal, safe, and mature thing to do on a public road. Many of us see the big picture : Our loved ones and friends are on those same public roads. Leaving the consequences of this type of action in the hands of what many people here might say would be the hands of someone who is unsafe, doesn't care about the law, guilty of poor judgement and could be considered less than mature.
This forum allows for the peaceful discussion of both sides of this topic, without aggression and with civility, I encourage both sides to get involved in the discussion in a civil manner.

Congratulations Ellis on your " unbelievable " win at the track.

That’s very sad. I’m very sorry to hear about your late friend ET. Nothing to argue here. Stories like yours and like those articles are very sobering and are a lesson to all of us. Street racing is generally very dangerous and yes, many times fatal to more than just the participants. Not the expected direction of this thread, but I’ll welcome it.
