Wife and I went to our annual tech inspection for the 2019 Auto X season !!! In line with us was a Ford Focus with Recaro seats (stock from the factory) I'm thinking a dam Focus has ten times better seats than a Vette ???????????????????
Wow those are nice, I think our c5 seats are pretty terrible, for such a great handling sports car they don't hold you in at all. I am constantly going back and forth between new seat covers or just new seats altogether. Most of the aftermarket seats don't seem to have much lumbar support which is one thing I really do like about our seats.
For a 'halo' car, there are a lot of very cheaply done parts on the car. Have to imagine the current C7 and soon to be C8 suffers similar cheap component issues.
Recaros have been done -- though not for cheap... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ts-for-c5.html

I have some recaros out of an evo x that I tried to put in my car, they didn't work out which sucks because they are really comfortable... the seat backs are a little too wide at the rear and will not allow the seat to go all the way back and even with it mounted basically on the floor there was only about 1" of clearance between the top of the seat and the headliner... I'm looking at maybe evo 9 recaros or the recaro speed... the recaro speed v seems to be the same seat as the speed only with different upholstery and a $400 price increase... they advertise those as being made specifically for the corvette lol, and you have to buy their bases too but I don't know how much those are or how they are different from anything else out there... I'm thinking you could get their sliders and mount it to any other base as you normally would... getting some seats in this thing is going to be my next project, I'm sick of the stock ones
Corbeau Evo X seats are a popular choice. They look awesome (in my opinion) and they can be purchased with inflatable lumbar. At approximately $1200 for the pair, they’re not terribly expensive. I definitely recommend them. Here are mine:

Unfortunately, most Corvette owners buy the gm corporate line that the performance of the car outweighs
the cheapness of the components.
Problem is for a car approaching 90 to 100k, the argument is no longer valid. Coupled with the recurring issues
that plague the c4-7 like transmissions, clutch cylinders, gas tanks, assembly issues, etc. that never seem to get
fixed gm needs to rethink their philosophy.
