The OP didn't say what kind of car he was putting them on, but both of those tires are basic, all season tires, designed for sedans and SUVs, and I HIGHLY doubt that they come in C5 sizes, if that's what he's thinking of....
I got rid of the original run flats on my '98 and replaced them with Continental extreme contact tires in original sizes. Very pleased with wet and dry performance. What a change from the run flats...

If you are looking for a good all season tire and don't think you need a run flat perhaps consider BF Goodrich Comp-2 A/S. I think you will find most tests/reviews will rate these near the top (as in 2nd to Michelin) and they are a bit more affordable. I have been running them for over a year, driven in all seasons and I am very satisfied.

These break loose too easy. I perfer the eagle f1 all seasons. Much better grip
All season tires, including Goodyear, will always break loose easier than summer tires.
In summer, but not in cold conditions. Accelerate hard on summers on really cold pavement, and you better have traction control on, unless you want to loop it.
Me, I love my Pilot A/S set up. A ton of grip and genuinely all weather capable.

True. A/S are better in cold weather. They are one step above snow tires. Summer tires are a one step below racing tires.
IMHO, Goodyears are nice and sticky, but wear faster and get noisier sooner.
I liked the BFG Comp T/As and RE 7x series I had on a non-vettes, but in the early 2k's, were not made in C5 sizes.
.
IIRC, OEMs on my 5 were Goodears.
After they wore out, I tried Firestones runflats. OK, but slick when it got cool/cold.
When they wore out, switched to Mich PS A/S, and haven't looked back.
I put them on my 7 as well.
Continental ExtremeContact Sports will give you excellent wet and dry traction. Its a modern tire, only debuting a couple years ago, and it comes in C5 sizes. Reasonably priced too. I have been running a set on my 04Z and love them.

I believe in the Beer Fairy
If you're looking for a good rain tire I believe the Tire Rack still ranks the BF Goodrich comp ta as the best rain Tire they've got. I had them on my C5 and they were awesome. So good in the rain that I've probably developed some bad habits.
