Couple track days and road trips too. In the end, I didn’t like all the tech in it.l, I didn’t like the 7 speed gear box, I didn’t like the electric steering feel, i didn’t like the digital gauges, I didn’t like the VVT, Direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and decided the car was just not what I wanted in my ‘fun’ car. Sold it while it still had good value and went ‘backwards’ to a car that drove and handled like I wanted. The ability to turn off the nannies and actually drive the car. An analog car in a digital world. I purchased a C5Z in stock form with very low miles from a guy who just didn’t drive it and no longer wanted it. It was like a breath of fresh air! Old sweeping analog gauges, 6 speed transmission that had a shift feel like a ‘rifle bolt’, raw power with minimal computer intrusion, that FRC eye appeal, smooth curves, and easy to work on with cheap parts... the C7GS is a better car in just about all comparison metrics... but it was just not that car for me.. with the C8 being auto trans only, I won’t be tempted by that one either. It looks like this C5Z will be my last Corvette. I can easily see why the OP was reluctant to part ways with his.

rifle bolt shifter feel is literally the best description I’ve ever heard. I LOVE the way the c5 (with an aftermarket shifter) feels.
