Pass on this one:
1- You want a convertible, get a convertible. Targa is a hassle if you're accustomed to convertible.
2- seems overpriced, esp for a car that sat most of its life.
Just my $0.02.
Tho’ I would not seek out a yellow car, this one with the magnesium wheels and interior color is an interesting choice. It looks like it’s in nice shape, but how long has he had it?
I can understand and agree with all of the cautions mentioned by our brethren above.
My first c5, was a Z06 with 17k miles on it and I was also the 4th owner. My current car was 1 owner. I wouldn’t get to excited about that. (Unless it was being sold by that guy in NH who ‘specializes’ in flood cars)
I don’t like convertibles, and didn’t think I’d EVER take out the targa roof. Friend of mine encouraged me to try it on a nice evening and I was hooked. It’s fine on the highway (at any speed, just make sure your hat is secure) or around town.
Just picked up a 2002 manual yellow targa with 67K last month. Price was $13,500 and it was babied as well with 2 owners. That was in SoCal, where cars have great resale. I think he is asking for a bit of a premium.
I agree with the targa over Z06. Took a while to find a manual targa i liked, but I wanted to be able to pull the top off for the occasional nice day drive.

I think you got a good deal! Don't know what is going on with prices around here. People are mighty proud of their vehicles!
First thing, buy what you really want. If you want a drop top then get a drop top! Don't settle for something else, you will probably end up being sorry. Regarding the car you are considering, it seems to be a nice stock and unmolested example. However, only a full inspection will really tell the tale. Accident history or any other vehicle history that could affect the vehicle? All things have to be considered and taken into account. Several years ago I got off my Harley permanently because I had lost so many friends to accidents. I decided on a C5 convertible so I could still enjoy some of the open air experience. I.looked for the better part of a year before I found a very clean, stock, 6 spd, accident free, 30k mile drop top. For me, a top down ride on a beautiful day or evening made the wait to find the right car worth every minute. Hold out for what you want, be patient and demanding in your search, it is out there! Good luck with your search!
Really nice car! Wish it had a different color interior, though... That sucker looks BLOOD RED. Are those interiors really that red?
its called torch red and it's gorgeous! It takes a special person to dislike a torch red interior. I'm longing for the day someone parts out a car with a torch red interior so I can buy the whole lot
