Don't know if its the best but I have been using TECHRON in my '99 FRC since new without a problem. I also use SHELL High Test gasoline. Never had the gas gauge issue. Enjoy your ride!

I've not used Techron. Previous C5 had a flaky fule leve sender, fixed by dumping a full can of seafoam into a 1/4 tank of gas, and running to the low fuel light came on. Active ingredients are the same, Naptha iirc.

I thought that whole Techron thing was snake oil until on a long trip my fuel gauge dropped to E and displayed low fuel on the DIC. At the next stop I got two bottles, put one in at fill up and the next one at the next fill up, and have had no problems since.

Yep, it smells like snake oil but the techron concentrate clearly does _something_ to clean up some crap and it works. I try to run a bottle every year. Try to do an oil change a tank or two later, by the way.

Default Techron comes in Chevron and Texaco gasoline

The title says it all- If you buy Chevron or Texaco gas, you're good to go.

No, it won't hurt anything. I do the same plus I use MMO every few thousand miles to keep the fuel system lubed which keeps the pump, sending unit and injectors happy. Royal Purple Max Clean is also a good cleaner.

In the past the gas gauge on my '99 went flakey on me. Added a bottle of Techron to the tank and it shortly cleared up. Next tank added another bottle as insurance. I have since added a bottle about every three fill ups with no further issues. I use Shell premium, or if not available, then Chevron premium. I don't know the why of how Techron works, but it certainly is effective.

As you may have noticed, the seeming favorite is some Techron in the gas at fill-up. I used it in my C5 about twice a year to help keep the fuel sending unit clean.
