im looking to replace my isimple for the old ipod/iphone to the one that will work with the new mini wire that the new iphones have. I want the one that connects to my cd player harness in the back. can somone link me to the product? i cant find it for new phones only for old ipod/iphone 30 pin
I found it. Two options you can connect to the cd changer harness in the back or you can connect to the back of the stock radio.
I went with the one behind the radio so i dont have to snake wires again.
link for those who want to update their car easily.
i just got an email and apparently my order didn't process, not sure why. I reentered my info and now i should get it in 2 days. They are a family business so i think they are legit

Thanks for posting this! I was recently trying to figure out a good way to wire my IPhone into the head unit to get some compatibility and this is exactly what I was envisioning. Seems like a pretty straightforward installation.

I got it today and did the install after work. sorry no pictures
took me about 30-45 min
easy install most difficult part was plugging in the am/fm antenna wire, its pretty short.
i pulled the radio and the thermostat
I put the square computer piece (the brains of the unit) behind the ashtray and routed the wire up behind the thermostat and up to the radio.
plugged the harness in to the radio and the oem wiring in to the other spot on the harness. I then routed the iPhone wire from the brains i put behind the ash tray out the side of the dash near my drink holder and put the wire just long enough to reach my iPhone when mounted on my proclip. they give you about 6ft or so of wire so you can rout it where ever you want if you purchase the one for behind the radio
if you purchase the one for the back storage area with the cd player you will need to remove the cd player and plug it in there and run the iPhone wire around the back to the front of the car.
My original wire to the old version was pinched so I opened it up an twisted the wires back together but it stopped working after a year so I decided to upgrade.
This is just a little write up on quality and install
SO how does it sound? Is it better than an FM bluetooth adapter?
Is there a lot of startup steps each time you start the car, or is it plug in and music starts playing where it left off?
I don't have a CD changer, but I have the aux button on my radio. The seller seems to indicate that it should still work. Any idea if that's correct?
.
Thanks for the writeup. I may take the plunge.
It sounds great way better than fm.
No start up it’s plug an play. It might even play navigation over the speakers but I haven’t tried it yet.
Im not sure if it will work with just aux but I seems it should. Does your factory radio have cd in it? not the changer in the back. If so it should work.

Do all c5s with the "AUX" button on the radio have the necessary wiring to install this kit? Is there a similar one for just a 3.5mm audio jack? I'm looking to make my 2004 c5 compatible to play music from my phone

thats beyond me. I’m not sure. I saw some for sale but if it works with just aux I’m not sure.
Based on Diablo’s recommendation, I bought this kit on Thursday. It was delivered Saturday in the mail. Took me about an hour to install (taking my time). Sorry, no pictures either, but it’s pretty simple.
i notched out the bottom of the ashtray door so the cable can stick out with the door closed.
all I can say is WOW! This sounds so much better than my old Bluetooth FM converter.
I can also confirm that it works if your car doesn’t have a CD changer. My head unit is single CD, with the CD/AUX button and I ordered the one with the cable that hooks up to the radio. Perfect fit and works great.
i was considering changing my stereo, but now I’m happy with the sound.
My 2000 has a cassette radio with a 12 CD changer in the rear. Instead of disconnecting the CD changer and routing wires up front, or taking apart the console to get to the radio and connecting wires to it, I took the easy way out and use a $3 cassette adapter connected to a male 3.5mm plug that goes right into my iPod or phone and sounds just fine - the same as the stock radio. Unless you want to soundproof your car for the extra audio quality you think you hear, IMHO all that is a waste of money that could be used for something else. For those with a CD radio, you don't have that option so you have to do this.
