Well, now you've gone and don it!!! Once you have one, the suckers "get into your blood"... Congratulations on finding what looks like a really nice C5. Love the color, but I'm kind of partial to blue. Also, you're some sort of rarity! FIRST post AND you included PICTURES AND filled in your profile?!? I damn near fainted!
And as for driving it.... according to a design engineer who was here for years that worked on the C5 design team; they were designed to run for an AVERAGE of 200k (with proper maintenance of course) You bought it to use so just and enjoy!
OH, M6 or A4?
Thanks! To answer your question, its an A4. I would've loved an M6 but with this car being my daily driver and living in the Chicago suburbs with constant stop and go traffic, I am glad I went with the A4. Overall still a fun and amazing car regardless!
It will make that "necessary evil" look a lot better on your car. As it is, you might have the plate bolted into the wrong holes because it looks like it's protruding above the recess!
Enjoy your vette, mine has brought me a lot of grins!
Thanks for the suggestion! I will defiantly check that out. I have had my Corvette for three weeks now and I found a temporary solution. I put a clear plastic front plate cover over the license plate and cut the border of the license plate with wire cutters so it fits better. I think it looks okay. The only thing that would look better is removing the front license plate entirely and putting a body color front plate cover in its place! Maybe some day when Illinois changes its front license plate laws...
Wow, that is a really sharp looking C5! Congrats! You might want to re-install your front plate though. Insert the top of the plate in first, then screw in.

Thanks! I reinstalled the plate last week and put on a plastic plate cover.
BTW
New Corvette owners are banned from the assessories aisle of local chain auto parts stores. There is nothing to stop you from buying a large rear wing or non-functional scoup online but we do employ minions that will politely but firmly say - “not for you! locally. However, you are free and encouraged to tear apart a perfectly running car to install parts that theoretically will make you go faster, not go sideways or defy the physics of weather.
Enjoy the new ride. Helluva car fro an 18 year-old. Drive smart and be safe. It’s a Corvette so you have a noble reputation to uphold!
Thanks! I will defiantly check that out. I Reinstalled the plate last week and added a plastic cover over it. Wish I didn't live in a state that required a front plate because the body color front plate cover looks so much cleaner!
I live in NY about 1 hour north of the city. Semi rural area. Even though front plates are required in NY many of us don't use them. So far have had no issues. Been seen plenty of times by LEO's.
Not trying to get you in trouble. But maybe try running without it and see what happens . Any idea what the ticket would cost?

I assume the ticket wouldn't be to much. Maybe anywhere from $50 to $200? Most people get off with a warning or a "fix it ticket". Any suggestions on where I can find a painted body color front plate cover in Nassau Blue Metallic? Kinda hard to find parts in that color.

Biggest misnomer EVER...the gobs of torque and the gearing make this a non issue.
