I am looking at a 01 z06 for sale. Car fax shows that for the first 3 years , it was owned by ‘manufactor’. It is missing the engine covers, other than that it seems mostly stock, could this car have been a mfg test mule, / magazine review car?

Who's the first owner after manufacturer? IMO there's no way they would sell their mules or test cars after use.

Sorry, it reads first owner was ‘corporate’, 6 months later Carfax shows it was at a Chevy dealership, w/ 2700 miles

Could have been a GM executive car - driven by one of the big wigs for a while then put up for sale.
