Default Adjust steering wheel Corvette C5 -98

Hi

is there really no option / way to adjust the telescope position of the steering wheel on my c5-98? I only find the lever for the hight adjustment.

Telescope switch is on the right side of the column. Small power switch not a stalk like in the old days.

If your car has the Telescoping option, the switch button is on the right side of the steering column. If there is a switch but does not move the steering column, repairs are needed.

So it’s an option? All cars didn’t have this function? :O

Do you have a owner's manual?

Correct. On my 2004 it was included with the Preferred Equipment Group option.

From what I've read it wasn't available in 98. Correct me if I'm wrong but the black book doesn't show it available until 1999 in C5's.

1999: A fixed roof was introduced that had no removable roof panels. New options included a head-up display for the coupe and convertible, Twilight Sentinel delayed headlamp shutoff and a power telescopic steering column.

That sucks. I means I can only adjust the steering wheel up and down. I mean they could have an mechanical function to move it...

They had that back in the C4, but did away with it in 1990. It came back in 1999 as a powered option.
