turn signal help needed

My turn signals have all of a sudden started acting up. some times they work and some times they don't. This is on my 2001 C5 vert. The vert. has been in my dry attached garage for the last 9 months. no mice or rats or rodents of any kind. I will be grateful for any help. Thank You

Your hazard switch probably needs replacing. There's a post on how to do it without having to take your dash apart.

If it does end up being the hazard switch, do yourself a favor and get a hyper flash relay and be done with it, forever. No messing with the dash switch.

You didn't mention if the problem affects both sides or just one side. Details are important when troubleshooting.

If it's only one side, then it's probably the multifunction switch (MFS).

If when the problem is present it affects both sides, then it's probably the Hazard Switch going bad. In a C5 the turn signal and hazard functions are provided by the hazard switch.

You can replace the hazard switch, but a Hyperflash Harness should fix your problem and is easier to install. As an added bonus, it will allow you to install LEDs in the future with no hyperflashing.

A hyperflash harness replaces the portion of the hazard switch that handles the turn signals with a flasher that's LED friendly. Hazards will still hyperflash because that function remains untouched in the OEM hazard switch.

Check this one out. It's completely plug-and-play: no splicing or anything.
