Ironically, my son rented an Aztec many years ago when they were new, and he drove down to South/North Carolina for a friend's wedding and included a trek looking for the best ribs and barbecue. Despite the looks, he said it was a great car to live with.
My gf had one for awhile, can't say she or I had the same experience as your son. Constant problems with almost everything. We took it to the dealer to get it fixed the first time and they charged us an arm and leg, then it ended up having the same problem again a few days later. I let them know they didnt fix the car very clearly. Since then I've had to work on it myself which is fun.... I finally got her to sell it, thank the Gods. That thing was just terrible, but I'm glad your son didn't face those issues during renting.

Nothing boring about my Honda, especially when stock vs stock, its faster than the C5 base
Congrats on your new Honda Civic Type R.
Nice car you bought but I don't think it will beat a stock C5 FRC, Coupe or Convertible manual 6 speed with these specs:
A base C5 Corvette FRC/Coupe/Convertible weighs 3172 - 3245 lbs and has 350HP and 360Torque.
Still, it should be a fun, quick and great handling car. Good luck.

I've beaten the auto at the drag strip and on the street and i did beat the manual vert on the street, though he could have been a horrible driver. I do know I've beaten 392 challengers on the street which i know are faster than the stock c5, at first i didn't believe it either and asked for a re run
