Same thing has happened to me twice. The 92 got hit in the corner of the hood..They gave me 7 grand..got a new hood and had the whole car painted..couldnt believe i got that much..
Last month the 99 got hit..only 1500 damage
You get it fixed..and move on..

This is most definitely every bit of 8k plus. Blending silver paint is no easy task and especially not on these cardboard Ferraris. The fender, door, most likely inner wheel housing, rocker panel, mirror r&r... This will be spensive for sure,.

Cardboard Ferraris? I've heard Vettes called a lot of different names before, but never this one...

My guess is that it's totaled at this point. I would take it the most expensive shop in town for an estimate. To fix that correctly is going to be be pretty expensive and I just don't see how it's going to be worth it. Time to start shopping for another one.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Parking a Corvette in public stresses me out more than anything else Corvette related. Sorry your car took a hit OP, pretty much sucks all the way around. The only good thing is that the other driver stuck around and fessed up to it, as most don’t. Good luck with the repair and insurance hassles.
