Default Time for another Nav System Upgrade

Hi,

I would like to get some input from the corvette owners on what should I go with as the choices are overwhelming. So 10 years ago I upgraded to the Kenwood DNX6160 which included XM/Sirius Radio. I also have a rear plate camera attached to it. With the advancement in tech and smart phones I looking into adding the Carplay feature for Android (wireless & wired), music streaming, receiving text, HD Radio etc. I would like to stay with the Kenwood brand. I would also like to add this feature "Kenwood DRV-N520 Drive Recorder" and a new rear camera that includes dynamic parking lines. So there are a lot of Kenwood units which makes it very overwhelming
- Kenwood Excelon DDX9906XR
- Kenwood DNX696SS
- Kenwood DNX576S
- Kenwood DNX874S
- Kenwood DMX9706S

Rearview camera, again I don't know how the fitment and the look will be
- Boyo VTL17IRTJ
- Audiovox ACA800
- Voxx ACA501D
- etc

So any input/suggestions is greatly appreciated, post pictures if you have any

RB

Go to a local auto audio store & they will educate you on what to get according to what you want to accomplish.

So after research I ended up getting the Kenwood DNX 996XR along with AXXESS XSVI-2004 wiring Interface. In the process to start the install and first obstacle is the wiring interface AXXESS which did not come with description of the different components. I was wondering how to connect certain plugs assuming they need to be connected somewhere. There are 2 black boxes and 2 wiring harnesses. that came with the AXXESS kit. I am trying to understand certain plugs where they go.
- What do I do with the small black box, the 2 wiring harnesses that came with the kit none of them plug into it and I couldn't find anything in the car to plug into it either
- So the first wiring harness with the white plugs on either end, one end goes into the converter with the dials and the other end goes into the factory harness - CHECK
- The second wiring harness has 3 black plugs and stripped wires.
- The stripped wires I will have to wire with the new Kenwood wiring harness by matching colors - CHECK
- The big black plug gets connected to the factory harness - CHECK
- What about the 2 small black plugs where do they go, I could not find anywhere to plug them.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated

You might try posing your questions in the Audio/Electronics section of the General Corvette Topics forum. Someone there might help you.

Down in the general section..not C5 section.
too bad you didn't get it from Crutchfield ( you didn't right)
They have an option for 20 bucks where they wire it all up and you just have to plug it in..
but audio section has every answer.

Can some when chime in on the easiest way to connect the speed wire of my kenwood heading harness (pink color). Is there anything in the car I can splice the wire
I read somewhere that need to lift the passenger side of the car and get to the PCM and tap into a red wire pin 50. I was hoping something inside the car

Thanks

Ok so I wired the Axxess XSVI2004 to my kenwood wiring harness and I by mistake forgot to wait till the car goes to sleep and I went ahead plugged and turned it on. When I remembered I turned off and took the switch off but all lights kept flickering so I unplugged everything..... so my question did I ruin the initiation is there a reset to redo it

The radio works when car is running but when I turn key to accessory the unit turns off. I disconnected the battery for 10min and will try again this evening.
I am also concerned why all lights flickered and car acted weird when I used the harness. Let me see what happens today and will report on the outcome

I didnt disconnect the bsttery
I had the bezel off..harness unplugged..then got in the car..shut the door and let the car snooze for a few minutes..then connected the 2 plugs back into the car and did the 30 second on..off.
Then adjusted the bose woofers..which are gone now.
Im not sure why this works but it does
