Default Suggestion for empty cigarette lighter socket

I decided recently to delete the cigarette lighter altogether. Never really worked, and I'll never use it either. The hole doesn't look terrible, but I'd figure to make it useful with either a USB charge port or something else useful. I thought it would be really cool to have an AFR gauge there but I haven't seen one small enough to fit on the cigarette lighter hole. I bought a USB charge port but had to return it because the diameter of the body was too large.

Suggestions or recommendations?

PS: I have the Metra center console, but the cigarette lighter hole should be the same as the stock center console.

The actual lighter is good for plugging in a USB adapter.

Are you serious? This is hilarious!!!! I would pull this off! Unfortunately, I actually deleted the entire cigarette socket assembly (not just the lighter plug, but the female metal socket piece, so I have just a blank hole on the console and I'm not sure if it will fit without the female cigarette socket.

My horn didn't work on the steering wheel and I didn't want to take it off again, so I put a button there and wired it into my horn. (beep-beep)

I wired a couple USB power cables (iphone and micro usb) to come out of the cig lighter hole.
They get power from a 12v-5v adapter behind the dash wired into the ignition.

This way i can mount my phone (magnetic mount on the central ac vent) and have it powered by the car.

This was done as part of a headunit-less stereo install - bluetooth only. works GREAT.

My horn's fine...that's scary man, I would never put a horn anywhere else than the steering wheel. Someone jumps at you in traffic, you have no time to react and find the horn, unless you're trained instinctively to reach for it somewhere else.

Oh, trust me I am an avid horn honker, my car is a manual so my hand is right there anyways. Like I said it didn't work at all, I had already had the wheel off a couple of times and didn't want to mess with it anymore, so this was a simple solution. I wasn't saying put your horn there I was giving you an option if you had something you wanted to run off a switch.

I deleted the lighter and ash tray and have the Alky controls and the Line Lock in their place.
Later.

I just made it into a USB port that connects to my head unit behind the dash.

Does the round plastic piece come with the USB port? I have the same as the OP. My usb port is currently in the center console, but I'm considering moving it where the lighter socket is. The one in the center console is rectangle like the port.

Yes, but it is a slightly larger dia than the existing cig lighter hole.

you can find them elsewhere but that’s the one I have and it works great.

Use it for a USB port or for an electric cutouts switch.
