You might be better off by saying what you are looking for in a tire. You can have tires that are all season (can run in any weather but not at best performance), tires for cruising, tires, tires for canyon carving, tires for HPDE, tires for max performance, tires for autocrossing, etc. all of these are 200+ treadwear rating. Then you have a number of different types of competition tires. So you can see, there is no one answer for your question. Tires I am running may make no sense to you because of what I want them to accomplish . For example I run 295/30x18 fronts and 315/30x18 rears. HTH
I put the C5 Z06 sizes on my coupe because they are wider in front and back. Now I'm finding tires pretty tough to find without spending a small fortune. So I elected to go up a size with 18 front and 19 back to have a better selection now and in the future for about $500 more then the tires alone.
Other size options, if you so choose, are a 255/285 combo, a 275/305, or 275/315. Just depends on what you want out of your tire. Not everyone needs or wants a cheap daily driver tire and not everyone needs or wants track tires.
Saying you want to do it all is not going to get you a good answer.
Lastly, tire questions are a lot like oil choices, everyone has the best in/on their car. lol

Thanks yeah I'm looking at tire rack too. Just looking for ride comfort and quieter for the most part. I talked to the Costco guy but tire rack has a lot of options. I'm done with Discount Tires. They tried to burn me. I'm done with them.
I personally wouldn't stretch them that far without looking at the manufacturers recommended rim width specs. They have those specs for a reason. That's not a slam against Fcar as his tires appear to fit fine. But a tire is not a tire and every manufacturers specs are different for a like sized tire.
Or even going to 255s and 285s opens up the selection about 10X.
This was the route I went. Full set of Falken Azenis FK510 in 255/40/17 & 285/35/18, including road hazard warranty and mount/balance, for $735 out the door.
Since I got those tires, though, Continental began stocking their ExtremeContact tires in 275/40/17 & 295/35/18. I might have gone that route instead, except I'd still have a hard time accepting the $336 price increase over the tires I have now. Falken FK510s are pretty solid IMO. (at least for spirited daily driving, including driving in the rain)

Mine is a Sunday driver so no raining drives for me.

I have had great success with Continental tires.
I will say that if I were buying them for my Z wheels and this is just my opinion I would stick with a 255 front. I've seen a few that put 275s on the front and I think it looks funny. Little too tall and a little too wide.
