Default 2002 c5

I just replaced the stock rims/tires (18 rear 17 front) with 18’s all around. Rears are 9.5 and fronts 8.5. Apparently these were off a 2008 C6 (stamp on tires indicate “2008”...20th month of 2008)
Old rears. 275/40zr18
new rears 275/35zr18

the rear tires are lower profile than the OEM tires. Due to the lower profile the gap between the tire and wheel well is larger than before.

what are the largest tires I can fit on these rims that will not rub?

also, now with the new tires my traction control activates when I give it some gas. How would I rectify this issue?

This is my first post so thank you in advance for your advice!

Bottom pic is the new tires.

To address the traction control issue, your rear tire diameter must be 0.5" to 1.5" larger in diameter than the front.

A 255 is probably max width on a 8.5" width wheel, a 285 on a 9.5" width.

OP, if you plan to stick around, please fill out your member profile completely.

New wheels look nice, but yes, you need to have a front to rear stagger within the proper range.

I'd be careful running those 11 year old tires, even temporarily.
