C5 FRC emergency trunk release cable

Does anyone know where the emergency trunk release cable is located in a 1999 fixed roof coupe?

I've never seen one in my 2002 Z06. But I've also never been trapped in the back. Maybe I should ask my girlfriend?

Tucked behind the carpet at the latch mechanism in the trunk. You'll need to pop the trunk to pull the carpet forward to get to it

If you could pop the trunk, you wouldn't need to access the emergency trunk release cable. Just sayin'.

I rerouted mine so that it is accessible behind the rear license plate. Like someone said, it is no use if you cannot get to it.

There is also an emergency release cable in the back for the gas door. You can always drive without opening the trunk but eventually you have to refill.
