Well, I just spent the better part of an hour doing a "10 minute" job. I am not an automotive engineer, but damn, I think I could have come up with a better solution! They should give that guy a raise for coming up with the most awkward and convoluted way of removing and replacing something on the Corvette! My hat is off to him. He must have worked overtime on this design.
The good news both are replaced, both look good and world is round again...time for a beer!
I'm looking for the caps / covers to remove sun visors and cover the mount, does anyone know if they are still available?
If so where can I purchase?
I just bought a set from here- www.corvetteclips.com
I don't think they're a forum vendor, but they are the only place I've found that makes them. Here's a picture of mine installed-

I feel your pain! Took me an hour and I couldn't get it to turn with the screwdriver. Ended up drilling them out.
They don't turn with the screw driver the screw driver holds the bezel to the shaft so it turns as a unit and unscrews. I followed instructions and it was easy peasy.

Hi JR-01, Where can I find instructions on how to remove visor? Thanks, Stephen
1. Pull the shade down as if to block the sun. 2. Insert a flat head screw driver into the slot on the small round plastic bezel. 3. Pull the visor towards you pulling down slightly. The bar from the visor will hit the screwdriver causing the small inner bezel to rotate and pop free of the larger outside bezel. 4. Push up on the rod and turn it a little more until it is free from the healiner. 5. Disconnect the electrical connector (you may have to fish it out from inside the headliner).
To remove the driver side sunshade, tilt the sunshade down toward the windshield as you would to block the sun. Insert the blade of a flat head screwdriver in the slot on the inner plastic bezel at the end of the rod (Install protective sleeve on this rod) protruding from the sunshade into the roof area. Now rotate the sunshade clockwise toward the driver’s side window. The placement of the screwdriver will cause the bezel to rotate when the sunshade turns and presses against it. Pull down on the sunshade arm as you rotate it until the sunshade stops.[the first tab disengages]. Push up on the sunshade and continue rotating the sunshade until the sunshade with the inner bezel disengages from the mounting bezel. In this position the sunshade will come free from the roof-housing. Expose the wiring connector (This is located 2-3” from the end of the rod.) Disconnect the connector. (you may have to remove the roof bezel to get the connector to come free. This bezel is a press-fit.)
....
The screw driver locks the bezel to the shaft, so when you turn the shaft by moving the visor it unscrews the bezel. Can you picture that?
Though it may seem obvious - a wider thicker screwdriver makes it a lot easier. Because I didn't want to tear the plastic, I ended up using a dull narrow chisel. Worked well.
Did they change something on some years? Took me 10 minutes when I removed them entirely after a day of owning it. I didn't know they made caps for the holes though, might have to pick some of those up!

I think they are all the same. After I inserted the screw driver it took 2 seconds to turn it out.
Just completed mine in about 20 minutes. Normally, with my luck, I was expecting at least an hour...so I'm happy.
Bought my new visors from BuyAVette (would love to check out their showroom one day) and am very happy with the purchase. Decent delivery to Canada. Lights are a bright, daylight bulb which is what I like. I do find that there is still potential for the "dog ears" to occur in the future if not careful. Being a fresh install, one just has to be **** about raising and lowering the visors.
One note of installation that I found which could be useful, is that the bezel on the new visor is able to twist on the shaft. So if you are having issues lining up the "triangle", simply twist the bezel to accommodate. Then turn the whole unit and it snaps into place.
A few years ago when I redid my sun visors, I had them out for several weeks and really liked the clean look and the more open view. However, I did put them back in once they were refurbished. However, two years ago during a multi-day road trip, I got tired of them always being in the way (I have a convertible as well). So I pulled them off and threw them in the trunk and decided I'm going visor-less from now on. I ordered the plugs from Corvette Clips and I got this thing (https://sunblocker.store/) for those rare times when I have to deal with sun glare. The Sun Blocker just parks up top near the rear view mirror, pretty much out of the way, and is available anytime I need to move it into position - held on by magnets and you can slide it around to position it where you need it. All you see on the outside is a quarter-sized silver metal disc on the windshield.
