In September, I'm going to do a big loop from northern NV through northern UT and CO then across southern CO to NM, AZ and back to NV. Going to stick to two lanes as much as possible.
What's the longest road trip you've done in your C5? Any sore butt issues? How many miles did you cover each day? Hotel parking lot incidents? Any mechanical issues? Post photos if you got 'em!

Longest one I have done was when I bought my last C5 - drive the car from NJ back to home with a stop at the NCM. Total mileage was about 1400 miles. Was a great trip.
Honestly, I have no desire to take my Corvette across the nation.
But I have driven my 2001 GMC Yukon on a few long-range trips.
First trip from AZ to FL to NY to MO, back to AZ. 5,569 miles.
Second trip was from AZ to Florida and back. 3,953 miles.
Third trip: Same as above
Fourth Trip: Same as above
Fifth trip: Same as above
Sixth trip (a few months back): AZ to AL to NC/TN, to VA to PA to NJ to NYC to Long Island and back to AZ. 5,227 travel plus in/around miles were just under 6,000 miles total.
For whatever reasons, I have more faith and overall trust in my 18-year old GMC Yukon than I did my 2000 FRC and my 2013 Z06.
Last month I did a 270 mile trip in my C5 vert and it was OK except for the fuel gauge acting up and overall concerns about the health of a low mileage 17 year old vehicle with no spare tire or jack. Later that month I did a 3,400 mile trip in my Ram 1500 Hemi and it was much better although fuel mileage was only 22.3mpg. My opinion is newer vehicles have refined creature comfort and improved reliability. The Ram certainly had better visibility, lights and sound system. No long C5 road trips in my future for those reasons.
I have put 18000 miles on my C5 vert since I bought it in April of '18. Four drives between New Mexico and eastern Virginia. Between 1800 and 2200 miles depending on the route (never went the same way twice). Then 3 months of daily driver duty in VA. Also, on 1500 mile round trip from Virginia to Orlando this summer. This is what I bought the car for - to have a fun convertible to drive during my summer internships. I can take everything I need for a 3 month internship and still have room for my wife's stuff when she flys out to ride back with me. I am a big guy - 6'3" and 300 lbs. The C5 has been flawless except for the tire problem I had due to my own negligence in not replacing 12 yr old tires. Get it checked out by a knowledgeable Corvette mechanic then drive it!
3500 mile road trip from Wis to Connecticut. Best trip of my life with zero issues. If getting there is half the fun, take your C5. If you just want to get there, take your SUV or truck. C5s are great touring cars.

^This!
Just last week I rolled 2500 miles to Denver and back with a stop in Bonneville for speed week. Did it in my deleted and tuned D-Max. It's an LTZ so has all the bells and whistles. Got 18 MPG (speed limits are 80). It's a big comfortable truck but not a sports car!
The September trip will be through some beautiful country and should be nice top down weather with the aspens turning. I'll be on highway 40 and 50 through the mountains and should be a blast in the Vette. Will also do the "Million Dollar Highway" from Silverton to Durango. My friends will be coming along with me in their Viper roadster so I HAVE to drive the Vette!
Ive been going from Camp Lejeune to Southern Pennsylvania pretty much every weekend. (500 miles one way) Full bolt on, Big cam, and I love it. The drive is a good experience every time and I always look forward to it. I feel bad for the guys that out 500 miles on their vettes a year..
Took a week off to go down to Louisiana to pick up my new Z07 at the dealership, then headed up to visit Father in law in OKC.. hung out there then headed back to Northern IL.. logged about 2800 miles.. great trip

Year ago did a three week 3600 mile trip. No issues at all. Have bad back and was able to drive 10 hrs a day without back issues. Other two cars get to my back after 3-5 hrs. Have also ran several 100-300 mile trips over the las year again no issues and no special maintenance before trips, wash, check oil and tires. On the 3600 trip had oil changed and all fluids checked. Most of trip in rain and tires never broke loose once, hilly and winding roads. Only wish the headlights threw a better pattern.
Not exactly what you are looking for but I once took a '96 C4 on a 2500 miles round trip from Baltimore/Washington area to Orlando, FL and back. Not a single issue and the car was 10 years old at the time with 75k miles.
Just a couple of weeks ago I did a 1000 mile trip in a 99 C5. No problems except the coolant expansion tank was leaking. Car never overheated though. We did the trip in a day and a half, no sore butts and no hotel problems.
The longest trip I did was around 11,000 miles in about 20 days (If I remember correctly). Basically just driving a big box of the country. From NJ to Cleveland (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) down to the Corvette factory. Then continuing west to Pike's Peak in Colorado to Yellow Stone and Grand Teton National Park. Then to the Boeing Factory in Settle, down US 1 to Big Sur (Pacific Coast Highway). After that it was back east the Carlsbad Caverns in NM (absolutely fantastic), New Orleans, and the Florida Keys (don't go there it is crap). The trip ended by heading back north and hitting Tail of the Dragon (my avatar) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. My wife and I did this for our honeymoon.
Car was very comfortable. They are great touring cars. Averaged according to the DIC 29 mpg for the whole trip. Had enough cargo space to easily carry everything for my wife and I. Could set the cruise and stretch my legs. Reached 130mph in NM and took turns way above the advisory speed more times than can be listed. These are great cars for trips. The only real ding was that one of the headlight gears striped in Idaho. Also with the headlights, the stock units are terrible. Learned that driving through Kansas at night with thunderstorms all around us (no moon or stars). Since the trip they have been replaced with Radio Flyer projector HIDs and the place gears replaced by metal. Great improvement.
