I am very comfortable with my C5 in the hands of someone who will take as good of care or even better then I have.
Glad tio hear that your C5 is in good hands. But really I did'nt give a dam about your C5 I was more interested in you.
Stay well,,,,, and have a few goals ( even if it is a C8). I am with you on a purchase of a C8 . I never pay MSRP and I will let
the public do the R&D on their new C8's. As the econmy cools , and the bugs are shak'in out of the C8......then I will buy.
Good luck and lets hear from you more often.

Bill, i would appreciate your thoughts on the C7 vs the C5. I know you did a lot of work on the production of the C5. I'm interested in what you miss about the old vs the new. Both cars are just stunning by the way. I'm becoming a fan of Tourch Red.

There is a lot to be said. I think my C5 was spectacular. It was not a real go fast machine...I had no real interest in going faster.. but aesthetically, my vision and adaptation of that vision was spot on.. after 20 years I still could not take my eyes off it. I received compliments every time I took it out and the older it got the more attention it drew. Iver the last several years I had mentioned constantly being asked to sell it. with two very serious bidders who I have known for years. They offered twice what a dealer would offer me on a trade. I even have a guy who I thought was a lifelong close friend , who offered me twice what these two guys offered that's 4 times what the dealer was offering. It was not an easy thing to do but I chose the guy who I thought would treat it right and also for his service to our country. AS a fellow disabled veteran of different wars, we are still brothers. Soldiers for life as my retirement pin says. When Jay drove away in my car, I got to see how really beautiful the car was, and I immediately thought I made a big mistake.. IM dealing with it and am Glad Jay has it.

OK on to the C7... first impression, the leather is 3 times the quality of the OEM leather and twice that of the Ridies leather I put in.. The seat frames are solid.. The C5 seat frames were not substantial, you learned to live with them.. Getting into the C7 there was no doubt the seating was greatly improved over 20 years.. the leather the seats and the stitching are far and away better lot of French top sticking accents. the two large digital displays are breathtaking. but the biggest thing is the ride.. I put Z06 shocks and sway on my C5 and the ride became immediately harsher. The C7 rides like a Cadillac when you ask it to, and like a formula 1 race car with the flip of a switch. I cant seem to dial in a harsh ride. The infotainment system is awesome.. IM still reading the manual .. voice command control everything for change the radio channel to where to get a hamburger or gas. While I am no longer in the need for speed, 460HP sure seems better than 340 hp. 7 speed manual, line lock, hill lock, CF hood, CF top, lots of rear room to haul that fertilizer. Aggressive selective exhaust from semi mild to wild. Lots of comfort, lots or power. Going from smooth curves to sharp angles is a major difference. Sharp angles seem to be more progressive . smooth curve has become somewhat dated. The C5 is still gorgeous but much different then the C7 . when I see a C5 on the street it seems familiar.. when I see a C7, it seems bold.

My C5 had passive key fobs that never worked correctly, the C7 knows me and does it well. access is flawless, alarm system works as it should. The update Hud is wonderful. The C7 will occupy my brain for a long time.. making it my own will take time.. OH and the most important thin.. Ive owned it for a bout a week now and Ive got three coast of Zaino on it.. I think the first year I owned my C5 I put 40 coats of Zaino on it.

Brembo 6 piston calipers, This car has New Toya Proxy R888 compaction tires.. they hook to power to the ground.. Not too good in wet weather but I dont expect to be driving in wet weather. This car has the carbon black flash package with black stingray, corvette letters ,outside mirrors, real spoiler, front splitter and side skirts and crossed flags all being carbon flash black.. the black wheels go with the scheme but its talking me some time to get use to black wheels.

Ill be glad to answer any question about either car or y perception.
Bill
I'm having some fun.
