NemesisC5.......................I could of bought a cheaper good looking wheel. The problem for me is I drive on the street
(a little) and I needed the steering wheel to be legal. I get stopped a lot; by cops . I am legal and never get a warning or
ticket. They like to talk I guess. Anyway this steering wheel cost about $900 and I worked a deal for around $700,
It's made in Poland and it has two different leathers (one perforated). I put of C5 emblem on it. Its very well made.
I get many compliments and yes it is expensive. But , you get what you pay for.
Later
I got mine from DSV. Vette Essentials provided me some extra gray matching leather from my seats and other trim and DSV used it on their D-style steering wheel.
That will definitely have to wait a while. Looks like the current price on the Redline wheel is 695 with an option to get 50 dollars back if you send them your old wheel.
Mine was more expensive, but I bought it a few years ago. Just keep in mind that it does have a air bag. Drive without a air bag and a
young officer trying to make a name for himself could impound your vette. Driving on the street, you must have a steering wheel
with a airbag no exceptions( with your C5).
Good luck

Maybe your state requires one but mine doesn't. TX state inspections do not require an airbag to be present.

RP, great choice and IMO worth $700 for compliance, good looks and functionality of a true D or flat bottom steering wheel. I like the oem appearance keeping with C5 styling cues.

I was under the impression that it was a Federal Law (since it was mandated on a new car by the Fed). Fed law takes presidence over state law.
Yes, I live in Fla and that's the law. I would have had bought a racing steering wheel without the bag ,if I could.

I guess i should put a foot note in.You may be able to slide thru a Tx inspection but if you should get into a accident with injury and you don't have a air bag on your
steering wheel. I will bet the insurance company (which are mostly national) will slide by you and reject your claim.
Good luck
Those are all great looking wheels, I especially like the 3 spoke C6 design. Are these smaller diameter than oem C5 wheel? The new C8 has a great design however IMO would look out of place in either C5 or C6 so I favor the D or flat bottom wheel.
I also like the D wheel as we have it in our 2017 Camaro but I sure wouldn't pay those kind of prices for a steering wheel. I'll have to see if a junkyard Camaro 1 fits.
I did a lot of research on steering wheels before I Made my choice. I looked at the cheapest, and a few slightly better and some very very high priced ones ( 3000 dollars.. Ebay sells some for 400 and no core.. I wanted a flat top and bottom . I went with Apsis because the inexpensive eBay ones had some negative reviews of quality and problems with wear after a year. Apsis offered the best quality at a fairly reasonable price. Apsis often has photos of their work post in this forum.

Here is an example of an Apsis C5 Wheel
