Windshield tray
Is there a consensus about whether to paint the windshield tray or not? I give mine a treatment in the spring and then it just fades s through the summer and it’s a pain in the neck to do anyway .

This year I have tried a new detail product called TORQUE Plastic Restore.
It is easy to apply. So far it has held up to fading. But because my car is outside 24/7, I figure I will have to reapply in the future.

I definitely wouldn't paint it, IMO. Paint will do the same thing as plastic - and it will always look, well... painted. There's some good restore products - I've had a lot of luck with Mothers Back To Black. Used it on a few minivan bumpers that lasted at least through a summer. I rub 303 in my daily driver's tray - it keeps it black, and holds up to the weather well. Good luck!

I painted the one on my '03 body color and I thought it looked very good. Never had any problems with it fading, cracking, etc.
But it really comes down to which look you would rather have on the car.

Thanks Jack. I’ve painted a few things body color on this car and I admit they are just ‘ok’. I think I’d like it to recede under the wipers, but stay black. I ordered that torque stuff earlier and will do a test with pix to see how it works!
