The power at the mirror that you spliced into is 5 volts? Not 12?

From: Bugs Bunny should'a made a left turn here

It's 12. The adapter mentioned steps down to 5v. You just need to tap into a switched source, not constant or it will never turn off & kill your battery.

I probably should upgrade my set up. Everything pretty much the same except mine does not record with the rear camera. Guess I bought an earlier model. When I am in for the day I reformat the disk.
Don’t forget to turn off when garaged
