Default Best Source For BCM

My BCM got wet over the weekend and I need to replace it. Local dealer wants over $1,000 for a brand new one. Local auto parts house wants $350-$450 to send mine out for rebuild and return, says there are 2 it could be. What is the best source for these things? I looked on Rock Auto and they had one for $130, which is what I was expecting.

Is there a forum vendor that carries BCM's?

Thanks,
Phil

Why don't you try something before going the replacement route?

Carefully remove the circuit board from the BCM aluminum box. Take the normal precautions for handling ESD sensitive electronics. Remove all corrosion deposits (the whitish marks in your picture) using 91% isopropyl alcohol, a small toothbrush and cotton swabs (make sure you don't leave fibers behind when you're done). Don't forget to check and clean, if necessary, the connectors. Once everything is clean and free of deposits, let it thoroughly dry before putting the board back in its aluminum box. You mentioned you have access to a dehumidification chamber at work, so you could go the extra mile and use it with your BCM as a final step.

Thoroughly dry your carpet, make sure your battery is fully charged after what happened, reinstall the BCM and give it a try

Needless to say, you need to address the problem with the A/C condensation water and it won't hurt to clean at the same time the udders on both sides.

A BCM is the Body Control Module.
EBCM is the Electronic Brake Control Module or ABS computer.

That's not the one I need, mine has a different number on it and apparently they are not interchangeable but thanks for letting me know!

GCG: Thanks for the info, I will give that a try for sure!

This problem was solved. The resolution was posted in a related thread. I'm posting a link to it to avoid leaving this open-ended in case it could help anyone in the future. Click here.
