Default ACA high-beam projectors

Has anyone used these high-beam projectors in their ACA light housings? If so, how well do they work?

Not sure about those bulbs but I'm using these cheepo LEDs in my cheepo tinted ACAs for high beams. Works fine.

Hey, jdmvette! Those look remarkably similar to the BeamTech. Any fitting issue with their heatsink and the headlight doors operation?

How's their light output?

Wow! I'm surprised you see anything with all that tinting! I purchased mine smoked and had to return them because it hindered light output so much I could barely see the road. Yours look twice as dark as the one's I had. But then, I was using CorvetteMods trash lighting at the time. Went Morimoto with my clear ACAs. Much better now. But my high beams are still halogen and the yellowish color has to go! Do these have a white or blueish temperature?

Yeah they're pretty much the exact same thing. I have beamtechs also and these are just a hair cheaper and recommended on another car forum so I tried them out. No issues with them.

I originally ordered regular clear/black ACA housings but the seller emailed me and said he didn't have them in stock and offered to send me the smoked/angel eye version for the same price.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/97-04-Chevy...8AAOSwL3Jaxov3

I accepted his offer and tried them out. The tint with these bulbs doesn't visibly block the light that I can notice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm using these nighteye bulbs for the low beams along with the high beam bulbs posted above

@jdmvette Can you notice any tangible difference in terms of performance (especially brightness, ability to form a properly focused beam and color temperature) between the NightEyes and the BeamTechs, or not really?

Yes, those are the same ones I had. They look darker in your pic. The same seller was wanting over $200 for the black/clear ones. I was able to find them from a different seller for just under $200. Thanks for the suggestion on the LEDs. I'll give them a try.

A fair amount of modification, alignment and sealing would be needed, but I don't see clearance being an issue like with other projector issues. I've actually been wanting to try this for a while, but I don't have a guinea pig C5 and I had to sell my 02 last year. I do have a set of these high beam LED Projectors and would be happy to give a reasonable price to anyone who would like to be the guinea pig for this project in combination with our Bi-xenon ACA projectors. (The end result would be among the most powerful headlight systems on the road)

I already purchased a pair of Morimoto Mini H1 7.0 projectors on ebay and a Lightwerkz retrofit bracket for the low beams. Was thinking I could install the high beam projectors via the low beam projector hole after I get the old one removed but not sure if that would work or not. These led projectors look pretty small but not sure if they're small enough to get them in through the low beam hole or not. Really not wanting to remove the lense and take a chance of breaking it or causing moisture issues if I don't have to. On a side note, I would like to replace these weak CCFL halos with brighter SMD or COB ones to fit the Morimoto mini H1s. Do you sell them? If so, are they available in RGB multi-color?

The multi projectors you have are not suitable for low beam use. They are a high beam pattern. I also believe they are too large for the projector side. If you for the projectors from ebay with the CCFL angel eyes, you will be hard pressed to remove the projector without destroying the housing (the housing is VERY fragile)

I don't have them yet, was just researching them and wasn't planning on using them for low beam, rather just using the low beam opening in the housing to gain access to the high beam hole from the inside, but wasn't sure if I'd have enough room to manipulate the multi-projector though that way.

And the adapter bracket I purchased is made specifically for converting the ACA housings to the morimoto mini style projectors. The crap projectors that the housings are assembled with are only held on with 4 bolts and some butyl sealant. I didn't buy the cheap China made fragile plactic ones. Mine have metal projector cans.

Default Too big

Okay, just got a chance to do more research on the Profile multi-lens high beam LED projector. The body is 3 inches in diameter, too large to install through the low beam opening of the ACA housing. So, think I'll just try the NightEye LED, utilizing the ACA reflector. Thanks everyone for the input and suggestions.

these nighteyes are the first set in my new tinted ACA housings that i've tried. i use the beamtechs in my fogs and in my old frog-eye setup.

the color temp is the standard LED color around 6500k i think. the cutoff is typical for the cheap ACAs so it's not going to be great but i get by with it for what they are.

i don't think there's any difference between the nighteyes and beamtech bulbs so go with whichever.
