Being the new owner of a 2000 C5 Base Model with 29000 miles I was thrilled to buy the car. I sold a 1971 GTO that I owned for 20 yrs so I am no stranger to wonky problems. That being said now on to the wonky problems eith the Vet. 1. I have the wonky fuel sys issue. No big deal I just set the trip meters. This will be fixed next spring. 2. TCS/ABS shut down, check engine/reduced power many error codes-to many to list. Fix was change the 20 yr old(original) air cleaner, remove TB clean and polish. Remove MAF sensor and clean (very dirty). Remove and replace TPS sensor. I couldn't believe how much that little black sensor on the TB controlled. Took the old one apart the brushes must have gotten dirty because instead of being straight they were fanned. Ex- hold your hand in front of you in a verticle position, thumb on top pinky on the bottom now fan out your fingers pinky towards the left index to the right. That was the position of the brushes. And the top two were not making contact with the copper piece. I fixed the old one and bought a new one 100 bucks from NAPA. Car runs like new. I would not recommend repairing a old one. The brushes are very delicate. But I am still getting the dreaded intermittent Service ABS/Traction Control System lights and codes. Also get the intermittent EBCM pump motor stalled. I am hoping the the issue will be a wheel sensor issue. The mechanic I go to spent 10 yrs at a dedicated Corvette shop. His instructions to me were drive the hell out of the car. They weren't made to sit for long periods of time and do the normal maintenance. So all that said I have absolutely love the car. I bought it in June and even with all the wonky problems I still managed to put 4k on it during the nice weather.

Stalled ECBM pumps can be loosened up by picking up the back two wheels and putting the car in gear. The back wheels spinning with the fronts standing still will cause the ABS to kick in. Do that on and off for 5 minutes or so. Let the pump get warm NOT HOT. Let it cool down and do it again. Drive it around for a while. Alternatively on rainy days spin the back wheels and make the ABS kick in.
Wheel sensors are most likely the connecting wires not the actual sensors. Cheap quick fix is to swap the wires between right and left side. Just unsnapping and re-snapping the connectors makes the contacts cleaner and you get a year or so. Then you put them back.

That sounds like a great tip. Mine come on when I hit a hard expansion crack. Same damn expansion crack every time I drive it - wish the county would fix it.
That's a fine looking C5 the OP just purchased. I like the wheels but I'm glad I don't have to clean them.
